How to download
your Instagram data

Eight taps and one email. Every screen below, in order — including the two settings that quietly ruin the export if you get them wrong.

🛡 No login, ever ✓ Your own official export

Every other unfollower app asks for your Instagram password. That is exactly why they have no export step — and why your account can be banned for using them. Follow Crab never touches your account: it reads the export Instagram already owes you, inside your browser. These two minutes are the price of never having to trust us with your login.

First — what are you here for?
Just "who unfollowed me"
  • Some of your information
  • Followers and following — tick nothing else
  • All time · JSON

A small file. The email usually arrives within minutes.

The full unwrapped + media kit
  • All available information
  • Followers, Likes, Story interactions, Ads, Messages, Insights
  • All time · JSON

A much bigger file. Expect hours, occasionally up to 48. You don't need to wait on this page.

Open Settings and privacy

In the Instagram app: go to your profile, tap the ☰ menu in the top-right, then tap Settings and privacy.

2

Tap Accounts Center

It's the block right at the top. This is where Meta keeps the settings shared by Instagram and Facebook.

3

Your information and permissions → Download your information

Two taps inside Accounts Center. This is Instagram's own export tool — you're not granting anyone access, you're collecting what is already yours.

4

Download or transfer information → pick your account

If your Accounts Center holds more than one profile, choose the Instagram account you actually want to analyse.

Choose how much — then Download to device

Unfollowers only: choose Some of your information and tick only "Followers and following". The full unwrapped: choose All available information. Either way, pick Download to device — not "transfer to another service".

Format: JSON required

HTML is a web page built for a human to read. It carries no reliable structure, so no tool can parse it — ours or anyone else's. Choosing JSON is what turns the export into readable data.

Date range: All time critical

This is the one that hands you a wrong answer instead of an error. With a shorter range Instagram quietly truncates your followers list — one real export listed 2 of 175 followers — and returns only a few days of activity. Anything computed from it would be confidently, invisibly wrong. Choose All time, then tap Create files.

Wait for the email, then drop the ZIP here

Instagram emails you a link — minutes for the small export, up to 48 hours for the full one. Go back into Download your information, tap Download, and save the .zip. Upload the whole ZIP below: don't unzip it, don't rename it.

Hesitating before you hand a stranger a ZIP of your Instagram life is the correct instinct. So here is the answer: it never reaches us. The file is read in your browser, and this page's Content-Security-Policy sets connect-src to 'none' — the page is physically blocked from making any network request at all. Not "we promise not to upload it". It cannot be uploaded. Nothing is stored on a server, because for your data there is no server.
